Club Instructors Rules and Regs
It is important for club members to realise that club coaches/instructors all give of their time voluntarily.
Should a qualified Coach/Instructor or candidate instructor wish to join the club with a view to assisting the Coach/Instructor team, he/she must first gain permission of the head coach and another member of the management committee.
All current Coaches/ Instructors are qualified and work together as a team while in the club.
Should a Coach/Instructor be asked to complete a task to which he/she is not qualified, a more senior or higher qualified Coach/Instructor will be required to supervise.
Any Coach/Instructor not complying with the above conditions or not being part of the team will be asked to refrain from instructing and may be asked leave the club
Candidate instructor training - As we are not tutors, we can only allow shadowing of specific lessons as determined by the Head Coach.
All Candidate instructors should pay full club membership.
Coaching/instruction is NOT compulsory for club members, (except when using the Slalom course, for safety reasons)
Skiers/parents must indicate whether tuition is required. If they choose to do so then they will be required to join in with all of the tasks and exercises as determined by the Coach/Instructor team.
Skiers are able to free ski only if competent to do so.
All candidate instructors and qualified instructors/ coaches will provide the following documentation (prior to commencing) in order for the Head Coach and committee members to compile an accurate and up to date record of qualifications held :-
1) Log book and proof of current registration. (yearly)
2) Proof of qualifications. (revalidate 3 yearly
3) Current CRB (renew 3 yearly)
4) Current first aid certificate. (renew 3 yearly)
You will NOT be allowed to coach/instruct/shadow should you fail to provide this information.
